Good book (not specifically about Great Lent or Easter) I found on the net: “Journey to the Kingdom” by Fr Vasilios Papavasiliou (of our own Archdiocese, and well-known to our community), a guide to our Holy Liturgy and beliefs, publishers – http://www.paracletepress.com This is a clear, simply written yet deep explanation which makes you think hard about many of our fixed ideas, and what we are doing in church on a Sunday morning.
The times of the services are slightly altered since this was posted:
All the morning Holy Liturgies (including Great Wednesday which seems to have been missed off) start at 9am. Today to Wednesday Holy Liturgy of Pre-sanctified Gifts finishing at 11am.
The Sacrament of Holy Unction on Wednesday evening starts at 6.30pm.
Great Friday evening the times have been missed off: the service is from 7.30pm to 10pm.
Easter Sunday the Vespers of Love is 12noon to 1.15pm
Good websites to visit: http://www.thyateira.org.uk; http://www.goarch.org
